Big Sur
As awe-inspiring as were the vistas of mountains and deserts I had seen so far on my California trip, reaching Big Sur and the Pacific overwhelmed me with emotion.
Perhaps it was a cumulative effect, but I felt like crying as I looked at this massive body of blue water repeatedly rushing toward the shore below.
